Scorpion - Rematch (Old Vic)
The story of this Scorpion is very similar to the Whites Cross (Lord Americo) Scorpion, a lovely looking gelding who was purchased from the Tattersalls Ireland August 2016 National Hunt Sale. The up and coming sire Scorpion was a triple Group 1 winner and his first crop of 7 yo’s include Cheltenham Festival Winner Mite Bite and Graded Performers Don’t Touch It, Tell Us More, Blue Fashion, Great Try, Sir Scorpion and Give Me a Break to name but a few. Denis is a huge fan of Scorpion (the Horse, not the Insect !) as he is the Sire of one the stable stars Jack the Wire. Jack won his maiden hurdle at the Galway Festival and followed up in a Graded Handicap at the Listowel Festival.
He came in at the same time as the other Scorpion so the plan is the same which would be to run in a bumper over the summer or in a Point to Point in early Autumn. There is no reason why this lad could not follow in the footsteps of Denis’s recent Point to Point winners Jack the Wire, Cousin Oscar, Redemption Song, Broken Quest and Lady London who were either sold for nice profit or went on to greater things.
